CONGRATS EVERYONE! WE'RE CHOIR OLYMPIC CHAMPIONS!
Everytime I think of uthcell, I feel rather confused. I've seen the ups and the downs of the cell. Maybe we're going through a down period right now. Especially 2 of the girls. I feel really burdened for them, not that I am bogged down by them but I wish, hope and pray with all my heart that they'll get back on the right track. Sometimes when I think of them, I feel rather confused too. Where exactly did it start to go wrong? I guess that's the thing about backsliding. You don't realise it until you've ventured too far away from God, and it's just too late to turn back.
So I guess you know what the title is about huh. On one hand I'm absolutely ecstatic over AJ Choir's achievement of the title of Olympic Champions in the World Choir Games in Xiamen. On the other hand I just am so concerned about my cell group.
Now that I'm entering uni, I don't think it's gonna help the situation much. In fact, I hope that I'm wrong, because it seems that in my absence, Ling will be left with the responsibility of guiding the remaining girls very much on her own as I don't think I can be around much. That's quite a lot to handle. =l Whatever little time I have apart from uni is put into family and children's ministry.
I'm torn apart.
We wonder why we face so little success, Till we learn that giving up to God is a process. Thanks mad, for that tag. What a timely reminder. (: I guess there's only so much that I can do, and that I really need to trust God that He will fulfill His perfect will.
On a happier note, I'm starting to enjoy BSF sessions very much now. Yes Pearlyn, I'm in BSF. But I'm in the Young Adults BSF, whereby you have to be between the ages of 18 and 35 AND your marital status must read: SINGLE. (: Today's lesson was on Genesis 24, where Abraham sent his servant to get a wife for Isaac from Abraham's family, not the Canaanites. The lesson speaks of Abraham's claim of God's promise, how he acted out his faith and influenced others in Christ, how he carried out his God-given responsibilites as Isaac's father. It was also a lesson on marriage, insight on the verse that says
Do not be yoked with unbelievers... To be yoked in the normal sense is where a bar links 2 animals together and they pull a load together. Being with an unbeliever is like having 2 animals of differing size and strength (in God) . The stronger one (believer) would suffer as he/she would be dragging most of the weight along. The weaker one (unbeliever) would suffer too, as he/she would feel as if they're being dragged along. In the end, no one is happy, everyone suffers. Hence this verse does not mean that we should remain in our holy huddle, and behave with a holier-than-thou attitude. Rather, we should still be in the world, but have to carefully choose our life partner. AND DID YOU KNOW that matchmaking is biblical? God told Abraham to find a wife for his son. Well, it is the role of parents (esp christian parents) to ensure that their children find spouses that are God-fearing as well, with good character. Matchmaking is not meant to be cruel, nor viewed as old-fashioned. [To be honest, I never looked at it that way.. (:]
Anyhows, HELLO to eeling, xiaoning and sarah! (: -hugs to you all- thanks for tagging and I really hope to see you all soon! (:
