Was doing groccery shopping with Sheryl, Joseph and his mum. We went to pick apples to buy since they were on sale: 5 for $1.75 ONLY. So I tried to find nice apples to buy, but no matter how hard I looked, the apples all seemed to have some defect. Either they were rotten through and through, or they had nail pinch marks, or they had worm-like holes, or they were a little discoloured. And somehow, it reminded me of us, humans.
Many a times, we try to find someone who is perfect, someone who possess no flaws. And we think that we have to be that someone with no flaws as well. But we tend to forget that God still uses us, no matter how rotten we are, no matter how scarred we are (think nail pinch marks), no matter how many sins we have (think worm-like holes) and how discouraged and dejected we may be (think discolouration).
I didn't manage to pick any apples but Sheryl did.
Thank God that He's so merciful.
Maybe it's because we're on sale. Heehee.

Was writing my lab report with my iTunes running when this song played. at first it was labelled Track 16 (evidence that i haven't listened to this). but it really ministered to me, everything i am feeling right now. am just so awed that God allows for us to speak to him intimately, for us to draw near to Him. hope this song speaks to you too. Was on the bus just now on my way to lecture when i decided to take out "My Time With God" and read the bible a bit. Nothing much, just interesting reading, nothing radical, nothing that makes you jump out of your seat and want to shout "AMEN!". But as i was saying short prayer while walking to the LT, i was talking to God and saying, Lord, thank You for loving me, and i love You too because you first loved me.
And then it hit me.
Why is it that we only do things (that please others) BECAUSE someone else did something (nice) first?
What if we did things.. just because. What if we just WANTED to do it. If we just seeked to please God and fulfill the purpose of our lives?
and it was interesting that the point on Agape love was brought up at last night's combined prayer.

it’s people like these that make lectures less boring. even though their bragging can get a tad annoying, but at least it ensures I don’t fall asleep during lectures.
