I realise that I'm getting lazier and lazier at this blogging thing. School's just started for like.. 6 weeks and my blog's dying. totally. haha.

Anyway, today's been quite a day. mmm, remembered what Francis said at wednesday's CG. It's something along the lines of "Is your rights worth fighting for as opposed to the relationship that is at stake?" Often times, I find myself caught in such a situation, and it is in times like this when we really have to "die to ourselves". I don't deny that it is a constant struggle, but I pray that God will give me the strength to see me through such times, and that I won't buckle under pressure of the world but instead I'll stand up and be that salt and light. And at such times, it really helps when like-minded friends encourage and "prop you up" along the way.

Today at CG we did Acts 3, the story about Peter and John saying "Gold and silver I do not have, but I give you what I do have. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, stand up and walk!" to the lame beggar (no he wasn't lame by virtue of his jokes..) and later on Peter rebuking the onlookers. I thought the second part of the story was very thought provoking, even though when I read through it the first time round it seemed like Peter was talking in circles. Later it seems to me that the onlookers actually resemble the pharisees that Jesus rebuked, people who knew the law and chose to do nothing about it. Doesn't it sound all too familiar? It does for me.. housework. I know mum gets irked when I don't help do all the housework, but sometimes laziness just overwhelms me and I choose my fleshly desire - to be lazy. And the consequence is as predicted: a whole lot of nagging and scolding. In a way, we only have ourselves to blame, since we hear but do not do. And come to think of it, isn't the gift of salvation almost the same? Some hear and receive, they are saved, like those who hear the word and do it. However, there are also those who hear and yet choose not to believe, not to do anything about it. They are so comfortable in their own little world that even though some know that salvation is through Jesus Christ, they are just too self-absorbed and remain as "onlookers". What a pity, what a shame, what a waste.

Sometimes all it takes is a little effort on our side.

Was walking from my math lect to tutorial today, and i saw the most encouraging thing: amidst the building up of homework and lectures and assignments and tutorials, 3 girls sat outside one of the LTs praying. And it kinda reminded me how sometimes it is good to just drop everything and to come to God, for focus, for direction. And to add on to that, there's going to be part 2 of "The Lord's Prayer" today at sunset prayer. I can't wait!!! (:

HELLO THERE! My birthday is tomorrow. (I'm being very direct here heeheeheee!) Quite excited really, hopefully there's no ponding tonight cos they'll take pity on my broken ankle. But then again, there's no telling when it comes to the dee-blockers. And actually.. the broken ankle is to their advantage cos it only means I can't run away from them when they want to pond me. Why can't you pond someone with a sprianed foot? The foot won't dissolve what. But shhhh. Don't tell them, heehee. (:

So if you absolutely have no idea what to get the princess ( for the dense people, i'm the princess. (: ), you could try some apple/mac products, ipod accessories etc etc cos I'm going to collect my new macbook tomorrow! (: For starters, a nice set of speakers cos my speakers are absolutely gone.. Then maybe an apple mouse.. That'll be good too. Or even a radio plug-on for my ipod nano. (:

And if you're feeling absolutely broke and cannot afford the above, I'd just like to hear from you. That's actually the best birthday gift you can give. (:

p.s. mad, this list was written with you in mind (:

-blows whistle-

HEY EVERYONE! WE DEE-BLOCKERS ARE TABLE TENNIS CHAMPS!

ah ha! This is the first time that the girls actually got into finals, and who would've thought that we'd be the champions aye? Definitely not after only having 4 people playing out of a necessary 6 players. And not after we've been ruling the girls score chart (from the back). We're always getting one point for all the games, and when we do get two points, it's because no one gets one point for that game. (: HAHA! But that's history now, cos we've got a new number on our list! F-I-V-E! Actually, I think much of the credit goes to Adeline, Yiling and Yvonne (the super-senior who came back to play for us). (: But at least I can say that I've learnt more of table tennis over the past 3 days and not just stagnate there at the same standard I've been playing at since primary three.

Progress, a good thing in this case.

Went to a pub with mad to watch a newcastle match, and I must say it's been an eye-opening experience. (: Yeah, I'll live one day shorter with all the smoke I inhaled there, but I'm sure such an experience is worth a day and mad'll agree with me aye? (:

I've been bombarded on all fronts with tutorials, assignments and lab work. Keeps me on my toes more now. And not to mention the crazy lecturers, of which one uploads lecture notes at 11pm the night before the lecture. Like HELLO?!

Tis the life of a uni student.

Thank you to all who've been tagging. (: Here's the replies, rather belatedly for that I must apologise.

Zitian: You're a life saver at math lect the other day (: Somehow when I go for lectures alone, I end up sitting next to an eye-raising fellow. If you get what I mean. (:

Jinghui: HELLO THERE! (: I haven't seen you in donkey years! Haha one day the handbellers MUST meet up (:

Pamela: PAMMY WHAMMY! (: thanks for your constant encouragement, on the tagboard and on msn (: I SERIOUSLY CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO COME BACK! tell me your flight plans ASAP okay okay okay!!!! haha! -hugs-

Eeling: I like my room too. (: haha! okay i'll come visit yours soon okay! mine's open and cool, but yours is like a super funky space! i like. (:

mad: thanks for sacrificing your beauty sleep for me. (now don't roll your eyes or they'll drop out.) heehee. now we both end up taking afternoon naps to make up for the lost hours of sleep at night. (: nufc again if i can make it okay (:
